The Malden Fire Department is a combination Fire Department. Its full time staff includes the fire chief, assistant chief, two captains, one lieutenant, and four engineers. The stations are staffed 24-hours-a-day. The department also is assisted by 18 paid on-call firefighters, who are called upon to assist in fire responses. The Fire Department's response area is approximately 90 square miles in size. A large part of the jurisdiction includes rural communities.

Station One is located at 2999 North Douglas Street and Station Two is located at 607 E. Laclede Street. 

The Malden Fire Department has a variety of equipment to protect the Citizens of Malden and the surrounding area. Some of the equipment owned is one mid-ship 1,250 GPM pumper/rescue truck with extrication equipment, one utility truck with rescue equipment and portable cascade air system, one tanker truck with 750-GPM pump and 1000 gallon tank, one pumper with a 1,250 GPM pump, one walk-through 1250-GPM pumper truck with 1000-gallon tank, and one 1,250-GPM 65-foot aerial truck.
