Essential services to the City of Malden are provided by the Street Department.

Malden’s Street/Ground Maintenance Department personnel continually survey the streets, alleys and sidewalks to perform preventive maintenance and to schedule more extensive work. The City of Malden has approximately 160 miles of streets and alleys. The Street Department handles the clearing of streets during inclement events such as snow/ice and windstorms. Ground Maintenance Department maintains city owned properties as well as abandoned properties with the City of Malden.
